Autodelta 147 GTA AM

While the new GT Super and 156 GTA AM 3.7 have taken centre stage on our stand at the MPH Motor Show at Earls Court this weekend, our third model, the Autodelta 147 GTA AM 3.7 is also being represented at the motoring extravaganza.

Last December the 147 GTA AM 3.7 made its public debut at MPH03, the first car being finished only a matter of hours before the show. It attracted a lot of attention and convinced us that our hunches were correct, that Alfa Romeo models, pushed to the performance and handling limit, would find a receptive and willing market.

The 147 GTA AM 3.7 (although back then it was just known at the 147 GTA 3.7) now celebrates its first anniversary at this prestigious show, that first brought it to the public’s attention.

It has been an amazing year for the little car. It swept away the doubters, who reckoned that it is not possible to put 328bhp through the front wheels, by answering its critics, in that most public of tests, on the ‘BBC TV Top Gear’ motoring programe.

Lapped on their test track by the ‘Stig’ it humbled many cars with big reputations, including its so-called rival, the BMW M3, with its lap times. Maverick and outspoken TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, never a man to hide his opinions, was moved to comment that “mad amounts of power make this the hottest hatch ever”.

With cars now arriving from as far as Australia for conversion, it is only fitting that this car, the first bespoke Autodelta model is present at MPH04.
